A few years ago I was "plein air" painting with a group of friends at the Botanical Gardens. Someone brought a book with Georgia O'Keefe paintings. We decided it would be easy to paint flowers and we proceeded to do so.
After two hours my flower was a disaster and I had a new appreciation for Georgia O'Keefe.

I took the failed painting home but I couldn't leave it alone. I kept working on it making it worse and worse. Til I finally gave up!

After a few weeks, I pulled it out again. With new determination I tackled it again this time it was better.

Every flower painting after that got better and better. Now I love painting flowers.
